Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Plainmo (“Plainmo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), the personal-finance application available at plainmo.com. By creating an account or using Plainmo, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Plainmo.

1. What Plainmo is

Plainmo is a read-only personal-finance tool. It helps you understand your own money — net worth, spending, cash flow, budgets, bills, income, and related insights — by securely reading information from financial accounts you choose to connect. Plainmo never moves, transfers, withdraws, or spends funds, and cannot initiate transactions on your accounts.

2. Not financial, investment, tax, or legal advice

Plainmo provides information and tools for your own decision-making. It is not a financial advisor, broker, tax preparer, or lender, and nothing in the app constitutes financial, investment, tax, or legal advice. Figures and insights are estimates that may be incomplete or delayed, and you are responsible for verifying anything important with your financial institution or a qualified professional before acting on it.

3. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use Plainmo. You are responsible for the activity under your account and for keeping your login credentials secure. Provide accurate information when you register, and let us know promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to your account.

4. Connecting accounts through Plaid

When you link a financial institution, Plainmo uses Plaid Inc. (“Plaid”) to establish a secure, read-only connection. Your use of Plaid is also governed by Plaid’s own end-user policies. You represent that you are authorized to connect any account you link, and you can disconnect an account at any time, which stops future data access for that connection.

5. Imported data

Plainmo may let you import transactions from a file you provide (for example, a CSV export from another app). You are responsible for the accuracy of imported data and for your right to use it. Imported data is treated the same as other account data under our Privacy Policy.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse Plainmo — including attempting to access other users’ data, disrupting or probing the service, scraping or reverse-engineering it, uploading unlawful content, or using it to violate any law or third party’s rights. We may suspend or limit access to protect the service or its users.

7. Subscriptions and payments

Plainmo may offer paid plans. If you purchase one, the price, billing cycle, and renewal terms will be disclosed at checkout, and paid features may change over time. Unless required by law or stated otherwise, fees are non-refundable. During any period we offer premium features at no charge, we may begin charging for them on reasonable notice, and you may cancel before the change takes effect.

8. Your content and our service

You retain ownership of your data. You grant us the limited rights needed to operate and improve the service for you, as described in our Privacy Policy. Plainmo, including its software, design, and branding, remains our property and is protected by intellectual property laws.

9. Disclaimers

Plainmo is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that data shown will always be accurate or current, as it depends on third parties such as your financial institutions and Plaid.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Plainmo and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of (or inability to use) the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or one hundred U.S. dollars (USD $100).

11. Termination

You may stop using Plainmo and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service. On termination, your right to use Plainmo ends; deletion of your data is handled as described in our Privacy Policy.

12. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Plainmo after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
